The future of Australian netball has a new home after KommunityTV and Netball Australia inked a partnership to showcase the best young talents in the country.

As part of the three-year partnership, KommunityTV and all News Corp Australia mastheads will exclusively live stream every match of the National Netball Championships, Australian Netball Championships and Marie Little Shield.

The National Netball Championships kicks off on Tuesday in Frankston and pits every state head-to-head across 17/U and 19/U age divisions.

KommunityTV cameras will turn their attention to the Australian Netball Championships later in the year featuring the best open-age netballers outside of the professional ranks.

The Australian Netball Championships include teams from state and territory member organisations and Super Netball clubs.

The 2024 coverage will conclude with the Marie Little Shield, the national tournament for all abilities athletes. Every match of the event will be exclusively live streamed across our mastheads.

The three-year partnership will provide the perfect platform for the game’s next generation to be recognised, as well as the additional storytelling across News Corp Australia’s many mastheads, in the lead up to the 2027 Netball World Cup on home soil.

News Sport Network managing director Michael Wilkins said the exclusive live stream coverage of the Netball Australia national events would take KommunityTV’s already substantial coverage of the sport to the next level.

Last year’s national age championships were in Darwin.

“The National Netball Championships, Australian Netball Championships and Marie Little Shield are the pinnacle of the sport for up and coming netballers,” Wilkins said.

“These are three premier events on the Australian netball carnival, which will bring together the best young and experienced athletes alike from all corners of the country to compete.

“And the only place you can watch them live is with KommunityTV.

“Netball is one of our core sports at KommunityTV and our extensive coverage, from the grassroots to the top flight, has just gotten better.”

Netball Australia spokesman Spencer Retallack said the partnership with KommunityTV would expand the potential audience of all three premier national events and overall profile of netball.
