South Adelaide, last season’s Netball SA Premier League runner-up, is desperately seeking a win this Friday night against Tango after losing its first four games of 2025.
The Panthers, led by star attacker Jess Paradiso, came agonisingly close to taking out the 2024 premiership in an extra time loss to Contax but have faced a number of challenges this season as they attempt to bounce back.
Currently sitting second bottom and coming off of a 61-46 loss to Oakdale last week, the side will have another chance to change its fortunes this Friday against a 2-2 Tango outfit.
The Tango and South Adelaide clash will be available live and exclusive on KommunityTV from 7pm with the reserves clash also available at 8.35pm.
Paradiso said the team had faced a number of early challenges with fitness and availability and was not dwelling on the losses to start the season.
“We’ve had a tough start to the season, but we’re also aware we’ve had a number of injuries and there are new combinations we’re figuring out,” she said.
“There hasn’t been much continuity, which has made things tough, but it’s slowly coming together and we’re continuing to work.
“We’re not dwelling on the losses because as soon as you do that it becomes hard to turn things around.
“Every week is a new opportunity.”
While the Panthers sit near the very bottom of the ladder, the side is aware it has faced tough tests in Contax, Garville, Matrics and Oakdale so far.
A matchup with Tango could be seen as more favourable for last year’s grand finalist, but Paradiso said her side would need to be at its best if it wanted a confidence-building win.
“We’ve played the top sides so far so this will be a week for us that is again important to come out and play our own game and with some confidence,” Paradiso said.
“We want to get off to a strong start and build that belief.
“We know we’re not done yet and we need to take it step by step.”
