Football NSW Metro have sent a clear statement ahead of the Youth Men’s grand final at the National Futsal Championship.

The sky blues opened the day on fire at Melbourne Sports Centre on Thursday, and closed it in much the same fashion.

After dispatching of arch-rivals Football Queensland in the final group game in the morning, it was almost a case of dejavu when the sides met for a second time in the day in the semi-final.

Football NSW Metro had cruised to a comfortable 4-1 victory in the first meeting between the sides, and while the maroon marauders put up more of a fight in the semi-finals, they still couldn’t find the answers going down 4-2.

The match capped off another thrilling day of action which included four quarter-finals from the Under-17 Girls competition including a delayed penalty shoot-out between Football SA and Football NSW Lightning, with the latter prevailing 4-3 after scores were locked at 3-3 after extra time.
