A sharpshooting girls outfit from the west and a clinical Queensland boys side have claimed national glory at the Basketball Australia Under-14 Club Championships.
The Cockburn Cougars and Logan Thunder took out the highly-competitive boys and girls Championship division crowns as the week-long tournament came to a close in Perth on Friday.
It was a long-range barrage by the Cougars which led them to victory over Victoria’s Bulleen Boomers, while the Thunder proved too strong for grand final rivals North Adelaide Rockets.
For the fourth-straight year KommunityTV was courtside for the championships, exclusively live streaming every match across six courts daily.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
The Under-14s Club Championships is the first step on a long national development pathway for a lot of the nation’s best young ballers.
For the players it is the first taste of tournament action on the big stage.
But that doesn’t mean they will miss out on a chance to ball out.
Each player, and every team, has earned the right to be at the tournament after finishing among the top clubs in their state-based competitions.
The Casey Cavaliers came within a whisker of taking out the Under-14 club championships title double on home soil last year, winning the boys title and losing the girls final to Victorian rivals Kilsyth by a mere four points.
But with the Cavaliers out of the running in 2025 with neither team in action in Perth, it has opened the door for another club to announce itself on the national stage.
The Cobras will return to the tournament to defend its crown in the girls tournament, while last year’s boys silver medallists Norths Bears have also qualified as one of five NSW teams.
As the host state Western Australia has the opportunity to enter more teams in the tournament with Lakeside Lightning and Willetton Bears playing in both the girls and boys tournaments, while Joondallup Wolves and Warwick Senator will fly the flag in the boys, with Cockburn Cougars and Perry Lakes Hawks in the girls.
