CLARENCE teenagers Ethan Jackson and Ollie Davis excelled the Roos’ by 82-point thumping of Glenorchy at Richmond Oval in TSL round three and it did not go unnoticed by the umpires voting for the Alastair Lynch Medal.
The Mercury will exclusively reveal the first 11 rounds for the premier individual award for the state’s premier football competition.
Jackson, 18, took best-afield votes from the whistleblowers and was named fourth in Clarence’s list of best players.
“Jacko” had 18 touches, nine contested, five clearances and five inside 50s.
Davis was not named in Clarence’s best but the umpires were spot-on in recognising the Roo inside-mid for his 23 possessions, eight contested, four marks, six inside 50s and a goal.
North Hobart caused a boil-over when it downed Lauderdale at North Hobart Oval 10.7 (67) to 4.9 (33) _ the umpires saw the game differently to the coaches.
The club named Nathan McCulloch, Troy Cunliffe and Bailey Walker as their top three, but the umpires gave three votes to young tall Jake Steele, two to Demon Jeff Fisher and one to Bombers captain Josh McGuinness.
Launceston pumped the Tigers 14.15 (99) to 2.5 (17) at the Twin Ovals. Blue Jared Dakin scored three and teammate Jobi Harper grabbed two, becoming the first player to poll in two separate games.
