THE Launceston juggernaut gained more momentum on Saturday with a crushing 148-point win over Glenorchy at Windsor Park and the TSL’s most productive forward banked another massive individual haul.
In the past two weeks, Blues forward Dylan Riley has kicked 19 goals – he snagged another nine against the Magpies at home to boost his season tally to 26.
Riley kicked 9.4 and one out on the full from 10m out.
Launceston coach Mitch Thorp said “Dil” was in for goal-kicking practice ahead of their clash with Clarence in Hobart next Saturday.
“He kicked four in the first quarter and picked up where he finished last week,” Thorp said.
“That helped us get off to a good start.
“Glenorchy really hung in there and didn’t completely give it away.
“They actually out-scored us in the third quarter.
“In the last quarter the boys kicked 11 goals to put an exclamation mark on the contest.”
Launceston will now set itself to play Clarence.
“We firmly believe they have got the best list in the comp and they can’t hide away from that,” Thorp said.
“They’ve got 250 games worth of AFL experience and a number of guys over the age of 30 who are really good players.
“They’ve probably got the best Devils in the state so we are fully aware of what awaits us in seven days.”
