Police investigate deliberately lit house fire: Significant smoke and fire damage

A HOUSE at George Town that was deliberately set ablaze Sunday night sustained more than $150,000 of fire and smoke.
Tasmania Fire Service received “numerous calls” just after 6.30pm and crews quickly attended the unoccupied property to find the front bedroom well alight.
Tasmania Police Forensic Services and a Tasmania Fire Service Fire Investigator attended and examined the scene [Monday] morning.
A spokesman for George Town Police Station said the arson was being investigated.
