UPDATED: A man badly hurt in a tree-felling accident in northern Tasmania has died from his injuries.
In a short statement issued this afternoon, Tasmania Police said a report on the death of Rowland Michael Chilton Howe, of Nunamara, would be prepared for the Coroner.
“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time,” police said.
The 28-year-old was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious spinal and lung injuries on Sunday after he was crushed by a tree at a property in Neils Rd, Numamara.
EARLIER: A TREE feller has been flown to Hobart in a critical condition after he was crushed by a tree in Tasmania’s North-East.
The 28-year-old became trapped yesterday afternoon while tree felling at a property on Neils Rd in Nunamara.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 4pm on Saturday with firefighters using specialised equipment to free the man.
Sergeant Benjamin Kromkamp said the man suffered serious spinal and lung injuries as a result of a tree falling on him.
He said paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was flown by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Royal Hobart Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
