LOYAL customers and dedicated staff are driving force behind a successful Hobart tradie.
For 27 years Shane Dimsey of Shane Dimsey Electrical has run his own business throughout Southern Tasmania with the help of four dedicated staff.
But despite years of hard work and dedication, he was surprised to be named Tasmania’s Best Tradie.
“It’s a bit of a surprise really,” he said.
“But it’s really nice to be recognised.”
The modest electrician said he didn’t want the win to just be about him, but also on his amazing staff and customers.
“Without our dedicated staff and our loyal customers it just wouldn’t be the same,” he said.
He said it was hard to pick just one of his favourite parts of the job.
“I just really enjoy the variety of what we do,” he said.
“We do industrial, domestic, and commercial, so it’s a bit of everything.
“One of the best parts is also the relationships with customers. We’ve had some of the same customers for years,” he said.
He said a customer had even contacted him on Saturday to give him some great feedback.
“It’s always really nice of them to say. It makes you feel really good,” he said.
Tradies that made Tassie’s top five included Tazzy Tradie Lady Zabreena Manjerovic, electrician Jeremy Stevens, landscaper Matt Lister, and Lifetime Homes apprentice carpenter Lucas Higgins.
