Cable car plan destined to fail

WITH the release of the independent planning report recommending the cable car application be refused (“Cable car left hanging,” Mercury, July 21), we are seeing predictable claims of anti-development bias arising from supporters of the proposal.

The truth is that a cursory and objective read of the existing management plan for the mountain would have made it clear that an overdone and inappropriate proposal such as this was destined to fail. Did they seriously think no one would notice?
