A popular Hobart real estate figure and tourism advocate, Ian Reed, has died aged 44.
Tourism organisation Skål International Hobart expressed its condolences earlier today.
“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we inform you of the tragic loss of our beloved friend and Skalleague, Ian Reed,” a social media post read.
“Ian was always one to make everyone feel welcome and never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand.
“Ian will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
“Our deepest sympathies are with Ian’s family and his four children at this very difficult time.
The Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania, Knight Frank and Skal International Hobart will host a Celebration of Life for Mr Reed with more details expected shortly.
All who knew Mr Reed will be welcome to attend.
Mr Reed was a Hobart-based real estate agent and consultant for Knight Frank as well as Skål International Hobart’s treasurer and committee member. He also served a member on the Freycinet Coast Tourism Board in the early to mid 2000s.
Mr Reed leaves behind his wife and four children.
His funeral service will be held at Turnbull Funerals on Letitia St in North hobart at 12.30pm, Monday July 26.
