When will we be able to travel again?

TICKETS were snatched up for $89 flights between Hobart and Gold Coast within three hours on Wednesday – now Jetstar are preparing to launch an even cheaper deal.

The news that the airline was bringing back flights between Gold Coast and Hobart for the first time since 2013 travelled quickly.

More than 2,000 seats were sold in the three hours since Jetstar’s sale launched, including 1,500 $89 tickets.

Due to the strong demand, the airline have decided to launch an extra $4,500 sale tickets for other routes – some as cheap as $75.

Hobart to Adelaide will sell from $75, while Launceston to Brisbane, Hobart to Brisbane and Hobart to Gold Coast will be offered at $99, $109 and $115 respectively.

Those hoping to secure tickets can access the sale on the Jetstar website from midday AEDT today, but the window to score a deal closes at 11.59pm on Monday.

Jetstar said sales will become a regular occurrence to celebrate reopened borders.

“We saw a fantastic response to the launch of our new route yesterday showing there is huge pent-up demand for travel both to and from Tasmania, and we expect today’s sale to again be very popular,” CEO Gareth Evans said.
