TWO MORE ARRESTS OVER JARROD TURNER KILLING
An 18-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Mitsubishi utility, suffered head injuries and died at the scene.
Police said the 27-year-old driver, from Birralee, also suffered head injuries and was taken to Launceston General Hospital where he was in a stable condition this morning.
“Initial investigations indicate that a silver Mitsubishi Triton was being driven
east when the driver lost control of the vehicle on a right hand bend,” police said in a statement.
“The vehicle crossed to the incorrect side of the road before leaving the roadway and impacting with a power pole.”
Police said they were investigating if alcohol was a factor.
Frankford Rd at the scene of the crash was closed to traffic for several hours, but reopened about 7am today.
