A FOUR-WEEK Supreme Court trial has been locked in for a former Hobart doctor accused of murdering his elderly mother.
Stephen John Edwards, 65, is accused of murdering 88-year-old Nelda Mavis Edwards in Sandy Bay on March 4, 2016, by administering her with a drug.
In December last year, Dr Edwards pleaded not guilty to murder in the Supreme Court of Tasmania.

The court heard yesterday an expected four-week trial would begin on March 16, and “press on” into the Easter break if needed.
Dr Edwards is also accused with his brother, Robert David Edwards, 70, of conspiring to obstruct the course of justice by providing false information after their mother’s death.
