THE roundabout near Hobart airport will be removed and traffic shifted onto the new roundabout from Monday.
The Department of State Growth said there will be changed traffic arrangements on the Tasman Highway at the airport interchange and at the junction with Penna Rd at Midway Point.
The new “dog bone” roundabout at the airport interchange sits either side of the new overpass.
At Midway Point, traffic travelling on Penna Rd will switch onto a newly built section that aligns with Southern Drive.
A temporary roundabout has been installed at this new intersection. It will be replaced by traffic signals.
Traffic management, including prominent signage and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h, will be in place at both sites.
Motorists are advised to continue to allow extra travel time when driving through the construction sites.
Details of the new traffic arrangements at both intersections and how to negotiate them can be found on the Transport website.
