A 74-year-old Palm Beach man has died after he was hit by a car in Varsity Lakes this morning.

Emergency services, including critical care and the high acuity response unit, were called to Christine Ave about 8.45am after reports of a vehicle and pedestrian incident.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene for critical injuries.

The 80-year-old man who was driving the vehicle was not injured during the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Woman injured in car vs bike crash – October 24

A WOMAN has been injured after a car versus bicycle crash in Palm Beach.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Thrower Dr and Sarawak Ave about 7.50am Sunday.

Paramedics, including critical care and the high acuity response unit assessed the woman, understood to be the cyclist, before taking her to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

She suffered neck and back pain.

In a separate incident, a man his 40s was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after a crash in Burleigh Heads.

He suffered a chest injury following a two-vehicle crash on Fifth Ave and The Esplanade at 7.42pm Saturday.

In Coomera, a man in his 20s was taken to hospital in a stable condition with a shoulder injury after a quad-bike crash on a private residence at 6.46pm Saturday.

Delays on M1 after car fire, crash on Gold Coast – October 22

MOTORISTS on the M1 faced significant delays as emergency services responded to a car fire at Mudgeeraba and a crash involving a car and a motorbike at Oxenford.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews were tasked to the fire at the Somerset Dr offramp northbound about 9.30am on Friday.

Firefighters were working to extinguish the blaze about 10am, a spokeswoman said.

QFES warned traffic controllers were on scene.

Motorists were advised to avoid the M1 if possible and be particularly cautious if driving in the area.

QFES was not able to say what caused the car fire.

Emergency services were also allied to a car and motorbike crash on the M1 northbound at Oxenford about 10am, which will exacerbate congestion on the strained Pacific Motorway.

Queensland Ambulance stated a patient of an undisclosed age was taken to Robina Hospital in a stable condition.
