When most people travel around Australia, flying through the air on a motorbike in front of thousands isn’t on the list of things to do.
But for Rob Adelberg, it’s just another day on the road.
The freestyle motocross (FMX) world champion is part of a crew of talented FMX and BMX riders heading to the Cbus Super Stadium for the Freestyle Kings Live show.
Described as ‘the greatest show on two wheels’, the show’s action-packed, sports theatrical spectacular is making a stop at the Gold Coast as part of its 50 show World Tour on March 28, 2026.
Fresh from back to back wins at the X Games in Japan and Salt Lake City, Mr Adelberg will be joining the travelling show having been part of the tour when it first began.
“We’re all proud of it and we all love being part of it,” he said. “We all feel very fortunate to be part of something so big.
“We want it to be an enjoyable show for anyone from two years old to 80 years old.”
It's probably why Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth attended the Freestyle Kings Live Gold Coast show last year.
The ‘Thor’ actor took photos with drivers after the show, which Mr Adelberg described as one of his favourite stops of the year.
“We even had a little bit of rain at the Gold Coast last time and we still managed to put on an epic show,” he said. “But if we can get no rain, we’ll see what … the crew have organised. You never know who might show up and enjoy the show.”
The Gold Coast is the first stop in the 14 shows taking place in Australia with the tour travelling to six countries.
Freestyle Kings promoter Josh Hannah said the Gold Coast is the action sports capital of Australia.
“Gold Coast holds the record for the biggest Freestyle Kings show in Australia,” he said. “And we expect another huge turnout from the greatest supporters of action sports in Australia.”
Political leaders including Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate and Minister for Sports and Racing Tim Mander have welcomed the event.
“High energy sports entertainment fits the bill when it comes to our city’s major events calendar,” Mr Tate said. “Attracting the world’s best freestyle motocross team will promote the coast across the globe and deliver the very best aerial action from these incredible athletes.”
Mr Mander said it was great to welcome such a high-profile event to the Gold Coast.
“Hosting events like these in our state inspires young Queenslanders to get active and chase their dreams in sport,” he said.
Tickets for Freestyle Kings Live go on sale on Ticketmaster on August 28, 2025.
