Virus-testing pods to open at Princes Wharf Shed No.1 on Hobart waterfront

Four testing modules have been set up at the site and will be used as a way of accommodating hospital patient overflow.

SEVERAL locations around the state will be transformed into temporary coronavirus testing clinics.

The first of which will open on Hobart's waterfront today.

A State Government spokesman on Tuesday said drive-through tests would begin at Princess Wharf 1 today for patients who have received medical referral.

The State Government spokesman also said four pod-style modules had been set up at the site and would be used as a way of accommodating hospital patient overflow, if they are required.

Each unit has two modern consulting rooms separated by a common area for storage of clean PPE for medical staff to use.

There are a further eight modules being constructed to service the North and North West that are due for installation later this month.
