WHEN it comes to fashion in the coronavirus crisis, workwear will give way to loungewear as Tasmanians work from home or self-isolate.
Tasmanian clothing company Smitten Merino expect their loungewear collection to fly off the shelves as people adjust to life at home.
KINDNESS PANDEMIC: GOOD DEEDS GOING VIRAL
Smitten’s Holly Bowden said the family business employed 30 people, including at the Tasmanian Clothing Company in Spreyton where the clothes were made.
Mrs Bowden said loungewear, activewear and layers had been core products since the business began in 2007.
“We can change your life with a pair of merino wool leggings. You will look forward to winter,” she said.
Mrs Bowden said Smitten had closed its Battery Point flagship boutique in the interests of staff safety, instead focusing online.
Encouraging people to buy Tasmanian-made and support local businesses is part of the Mercury’s #togetherfortassie campaign.
The campaign aims to unite the state during the coronavirus crisis.
