TASMANIA recorded just one new confirmed coronavirus case on Saturday — another North-West healthcare worker.

Acting public health director Scott McKeown confirmed on Saturday night that the patient was male and in his 40s.

The state’s COVID-19 tally now stands at 208, with 10 deaths.

“My thoughts are with everyone affected by this pandemic and I will continue to do everything in my power to fight it,” Premier Peter Gutwein said.

“I urge all Tasmanians to stay safe and look after one another during this difficult time.”

The State Government says it continues to make a concerted effort to identify any further cases in Tasmania, urging anyone with respiratory symptoms to arrange testing by calling the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 or their GP.

The government will hold a COVID-19 briefing at 11am on Sunday, which will live-streamed on the Mercury’s Facebook page.
