WITH social distancing in full swing and a total shutdown of all non-essential services ordered by the Federal Government, the Mercury has tried to make planning ahead easier with a list of the latest cancellations and closures across Tasmania.

ATTRACTIONS, VENUES AND PUBLIC FACILITIES

MONA:Closed “for the foreseeable future”

IN THE HANGING GARDEN, ODEON THEATRE AND ALTAR: Temporarily closed

TASMANIAN MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY (TMAG): Temporarily closed

LIBRARIES TASMANIA PUBLIC PREMISES: Temporarily closed from Wednesday, March 25, until further notice

TAHUNE AIRWALK: Closed just three weeks after rising from the ashes

HOBART AQUATIC CENTRE: Closed, to be reviewed in April

KINGBOROUGH SPORTS CENTRE: Closed to the public indefinitely

LAUNCESTON AQUATIC AND LEISURE CENTRE: Closed, to be reviewed in April

QUEEN VICTORIA MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY: Closed, to be reviewed in April

BURNIE AQUATIC CENTRE: Closed, to be reviewed the week following Easter

BURNIE ARTS & FUNCTION CENTRE, BURNIE REGIONAL ART GALLERY AND BURNIE REGIONAL MUSEUM: Closed until further notice

MAWSON’S HUT REPLICA MUSEUM: Closed

DERWENT VALLEY VISITOR CENTRE: Closed indefinitely

MARITIME MUSEUM OF TASMANIA: Closed to the public from March 21 until July 1

FEDERAL GROUP POKER MACHINES: Every second poker machine closed in gaming rooms at Wrest Point in Hobart, Country Club in Launceston and 12 pubs around the state.

SUPREME COURT OF TASMANIA: Jury trials suspended for four months

THEATRE ROYAL: Performances postponed for the foreseeable future

GORDON RIVER CRUISES: Ceased operation, to reviewed on April 1 

RACT: No longer providing face-to-face service, but instead redirecting members to call centre and online channels. Not conducting any driver training lessons/assessments and child restraint fittings until at least April 6. Community activities in schools and with seniors groups postponed, along with a number of other RACT events.

2020 HADLEY’S ART PRIZE, July: Cancelled. All entries, which were due to close on 6 April, will be fully refunded.

FESTIVAL OF VOICES, July 1-12: Cancelled. Back in 2021 from June 30 to July 11.

SOUTHERN TASMANIAN DANCE EISTEDDFOD, July 3-11: Cancelled

THE BURNIE CHALLENGE AND KIDS IN THE PARK EASTER EVENTS: Cancelled

HOBART CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE MEETINGS:Temporarily suspended

STREET EATS FRANKO: Closed indefinitely, not likely to recommence until December

CATHOLIC MASS SERVICES: All public Masses in the Archdiocese of Hobart suspended until further notice. Churches will be open for visits and personal prayer at times determined by the parish priest.

TASMANIAN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: All public performances suspended until further notice
