Five Hobart LGAs above 95% first jab

Australia’s COVID-19 response becoming a ‘focal point’ in the US

Hobart, Kingborough, Clarence and Glenorchy have emerged as the state’s most vaccinated local government areas in the latest update to federal vaccine statistics.

New figures show that as of November7, 95 per cent of eligible Hobart, Clarence, Glenorchy and Kingborough residents have had their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and over 80% have been fully vaccinated. 

West Tamar has now hit 80.4% fully vaccinated, with 90.8% of residents having had their first dose.

Tasman council has also now reached over 95% single dose and 79.9 per cent double dose.

Circular Head had the lowest figures for the state for the second week running, but their figures are still high with 80.6 per cent of residents having had their first jab. But only 63.6 per cent of residents are fully vaccinated.

Flinders, Glamorgan Spring Bay, King Island and the West Coast council areas were excluded from the figures.
