On Friday, Premier Peter Gutwein announced a date for when Tasmania’s borders will reopen to safe states.
October 26 will be the date borders will reopen to “low-risk jurisdictions” including South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, Northern Territory and the ACT.
There has been no date given to when borders will reopen to Victoria, but New South Wales may also join the list of safe states by the end of the month.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Jetstar is currently offering direct flights from Hobart to Adelaide for just $96, one way.
For those keen to holiday in SA, holding off until October 27 will land you the cheapest fares.
QUEENSLAND
Jetstar is offering flights to the Sunshine State from $138, one way.
The cheapest Hobart to Brisbane direct flights are on Friday, October 30.
NORTHERN TERRITORY
Tickets to the top end can be snapped up for $265 through cheapflights.com.
Jetstar is offering the flights from Hobart to Darwin with a two hour stopover in Brisbane on October 30.
AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
Wotif.com is offering flights from Hobart to Canberra (via Adelaide) for $422.
October 26 is the cheapest day to fly for those keen to make a quick getaway to the nation’s capital as soon as borders open.
This flight changes providers from Qantas to Jetstar at the Adelaide stopover.
NEW SOUTH WALES
Jetstar currently offers $96 direct flights from Hobart to Sydney starting on October 26.
Please note that the Tasmanian government has not yet classed New South Wales as a “safe jurisdiction”.
However Mr Gutwein expressed optimism while making the border announcement on Friday.
“New South Wales is looking promising as well but we’ll continue to keep NSW under advisements for the next week or so,” he said.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA:
Hobart to Perth flights (via Sydney) are available for $387 with Virgin Australia on October 29.
However, the Western Australian government is yet to open ITS borders to the rest of Australia so be prepared to undergo quarantine if choosing to travel west any time soon.
