A man has been charged with murder over an alleged attack with a machete at a suburban service station in Perth’s north, in which another man was killed.

It happened about 4.15pm on Thursday when Western Australia Police say two men started fighting at the 7-Eleven on the corner of Mullingar Way and Hartman Drive in Landsdale, about 19km north of the Perth CBD.

During the fight, a third man allegedly stabbed one of the fighting pair with a machete.

Police were called to reports of an unconscious man and arrived to find him with “injuries consistent with stab wounds.”

The wounded man, aged in his 20s, died from his injuries at the scene.

Imaddeen Sayed, 28, from the nearby suburb of Darch was charged with murder on Saturday morning, before a brief appearance before Perth Magistrates Court.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on July 19.

Inspector Vic Hussey told The West Australian newspaper that the incident led to Tactical Response Group officers raiding a property in Darch on Thursday evening.

“This is an active investigation. We have several addresses of interest that we’re currently looking at,” he said.

It’s understood a vehicle of interest was at the Darch address.

Forensic officers remained at the scene overnight, and left on Friday morning, with the service station closed to the public.

Cars were used to block entry to the 7-Eleven car park, and two security guards were posted at the store.

Police returned to the scene late Friday morning to speak with nearby businesses.

Earlier, two men believed to be family of the victim arrived at the 7-Eleven, breaking down in tears and dropping to their knees in anguish as they surveyed the scene.

Homicide squad detectives are asking anyone who saw the incident, or anyone with information, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
