A man accused of killing his estranged partner has had his case mentioned in a Perth court.

Paul Anthony Cannon allegedly killed his ex-wife Lynn Marie Cannon at his Landsdale home on December 5.

The pair had separated two years prior.

Police were called to the Hardcastle Ave property that evening after reports of screams to find 51-year-old Ms Cannon dead at the scene.

Police said she had “multiple wounds on her body” and noted “items of significance” had been removed from the property but wouldn’t elaborate further.

Mr Cannon, 55, was taken to Joondalup Health Campus following the incident and treated for wounds believed to be self-inflicted.

His first court appearance was via telephone from his hospital bed.

His case was heard by consent in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday, meaning the 55-year-old did not have to appear.

The matter was adjourned to reappear in the same court on February 15.

Family members and supporters were in court for the hearing but declined to comment outside court.

Ms Cannon is one of 10 women reportedly killed in alleged domestic violence incidents across Australia over the 20 days to December 19, prompting calls for the matter to be declared an emergency.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign set-up to support Ms Cannon’s two surviving sons has as of Wednesday reached $32,224 of its $40,000 goal and was still receiving periodic donations as of Monday.
