It’s official! Get your cerulean sweaters ready, because The Devil Wears Prada 2 is on its way.

The film will be going into production this week two decades after the original film was released, with many of the star-studded cast members making their return - and does it really get better than this?

It’s coming!!!

After years of swirling rumours, today we got the confirmation we needed that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially on the way.

This week, the film will be going into production with much of the original cast, including Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci.

The announcement was made via 20th Century Studios, who shared a video to Instagram featuring some of the original film’s most iconic lines, including ‘By all means, move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me’, and ‘That’s all’, along with some devilish red heels.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kenneth Branagh - who you may recognise from his Shakespearean film adaptations, or as Hercule Poirot in the eponymous film series - has been added to the cast.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly has reported that fan (least) favourite Adrian Grenier's Nate Cooper will not be returning for the sequel - and as he shouldn’t, I hope he’s in Boston alone.

What do we know about the plot?

Whilst we don’t know the full plot just yet, it’s been reported that the new movie will focus on Miranda Priestly’s growing struggle with the decline of traditional magazine publishing. Emily Charlton, once her assistant, will now be an executive at a luxury brand that advertises with Runway - though whether they work together or butt heads we are yet to know.

Kenneth Branagh will join the cast as Miranda’s husband.

As for where Andy is, it’s all under wraps for now. Back in 2022, Anne Hathaway said sees her character in the City of Love.

“I think that she is writing for a wonderful French women's magazine,” Hathaway previously told E! News.

“I think she's a staff writer and she speaks French fluently. I don't think she's married, but she might have a child or two. I think she's pretty fab."

Now, we know that the series will be filming across New York and Italy, so she might be half right?

Either way, I’m a firm believer that anything Anne Hathaway is in will be a hit, so I can’t wait until the film’s release in May 2026 (can florals in autumn be a thing?).
