May 17 is a global day of recognition for all things whisky, with events taking place around the world to celebrate the liquor which has origins dating back to the 13th century.

Lark Distillery, Tasmania’s first craft whisky distillery, is today marking the occasion with an International Tasting Flight with a number of international drops from France, USA, India and Switzerland.

Lark branding manager Demetrius Giouzelis said the event was a good opportunity for adult Tasmanians to join in celebrating “the water of life”.

“With the ever increasing fascination with all things whisky, we are delighted to celebrate World Whisky Day again here at the Lark Bar and Cellar Door,” he said.

With one of the largest selections of Tasmanian whisky, as well as an incredible range from Scotland, Japan and beyond, we invite everyone to try a dram and celebrate on World Whisky Day.”
