My fiance said pregnancy is easy - then he tried shaving with a pregnant belly

“He’s carrying high for sure. If you can’t laugh and be silly, then there’s not much point!” says Queensland mum-to-be Tegan.

If anyone thinks pregnancy is easy, it may be time for a reality check. 

The physical pain, mood swings, changes in appetite, your skin, and mental health - the list goes on. 

But for dad-to-be Jax de Vil, pregnancy sounds like a walk in the park, much to the dismay of Tegan, who is pregnant with their first child.  

In an effort to get her fiance to understand the trauma that women go through when carrying a child, the Queensland woman decided to do a little experiment on him.

Spoiler alert: it didn’t take long for him to change his mind.

Dad-to-be struggles to shave with fake pregnancy belly

Ashmore-based Tegan bought two cantaloupes and a large watermelon, which she strapped to Jax's heavily tattooed body. 

The melons were firmly secured to his chest and belly using cling film, which would have undoubtedly been heavy. But Jax couldn’t help but laugh as he tried to regain his balance. 

If he thought his journey would end with just a few steps and a top-heavy belly, he was sorely mistaken. 

In an effort to show just how challenging everyday tasks are with a baby bump, Tegan instructed him to try and shave his legs. 

The result was probably exactly what you’d expect: a less-than-graceful but totally hilarious attempt, with Jax completely covered head-to-toe in shaving cream while balancing the weight of melons attached to his body.

“Pregnancy is harder than it looks!”

Struggling to squat, he buckled over and attempted to shave the back of his leg. A look of terror washed over his face. “I cut myself!” he growled before bursting into laughter. 

Tegan couldn’t hold it in either; she was beside herself as she filmed Jax continue trying to do the basic task with a ginormous belly. 

“He’s carrying high for sure,” Tegan said. “If you can’t laugh and be silly, then there’s not much point!”

Things got a bit dicier when he tried to shave his private area, placing a mirror on the floor to give himself the full picture. “Come to Papa,” he said with a swipe of the razor. 

Props to him for his positive attitude. 

But his task wasn’t over, he tried lifting his leg and propping it against the wall. “How can I get it round the front?” he asked his partner,  who couldn’t answer due to uncontrollable laughter.

It’s safe to say Jax had a rude awakening after wearing the belly for a while. 

“He’s usually like, ‘It looks easy!’” Tegan laughed. “Well, sir, now you know! It is not!”

“As you could probably hear, I was dying! Honestly, what the heck!” she continued. “I’d like to point out that it’s harder than it looks.”
