MasterChef star Laura Sharrad’s Fugazzi has best SA pasta in delicious. 100

International celebrities make a beeline for it when in Adelaide. Now a MasterChef favourite and her hubby are celebrating their Italian eatery’s latest triumph.

Power couple Laura and Max Sharrad are on a winner with Fugazzi Bar & Dining Room.

The Leigh St hotspot has been voted as having the best pasta in South Australian in this year’s delicious. 100.

In the lead up to voting one of our food critics noted “Fugazzi oozes class and spunk”, going on to give its pasta a rave review.

“The food follows suit, taking humble flavours and giving them star treatment.

“Take the crab pasta, for which hand-rolled strands of egg taglierini are tossed with hand-picked blue-swimmer crab, fermented chilli and crustacean butter, plus the bright coral jewels of salmon roe. Perfect.”

Winners in the delicious. 100 were decided by people’s choice, with more than 10,000 of you logging on to advertiser.com.au to cast your votes.

And while it was a tight contest in the pasta category, Fugazzi, which has been the restaurant of choice for visiting stars such as Nigella Lawson, Axl Rose and Jimmy Barnes, finished in first place.

It’s a parmesan on top (the equivalent of the cherry on top for pasta aficionados) for the Sharrads, who recently announced Laura, who became a household name on MasterChef, is expecting.

Housed in Leigh St. in the exact spot once occupied by legendary Italian bistro, Rigoni’s, Fugazzi is on its way to becoming an SA icon.

It also featured among the 2022 delicious. 100 winners, when it was voted the state’s No. 1 Italian restaurant.

This year’s delicious. 100, which was all about eats and treats, had 20 categories. They included dumplings, doughnuts, fried chicken, croissants and vanilla slices.
