A popular Aussie influencer has shared details online about her upcoming wedding plans, which has sparked a debate.

Influencer Tammy Hembrow has divided fans by revealing that she’ll change her last name when she gets married.

The 30-year-old has over 17 million followers and is marrying former Love Island constant turned influencer Matt Zukowski, who has over 100,000 followers.

The influencer posted some fun photos from her bachelorette party, in which she was wearing a mini white dress by Aston Bridal and looking gorgeous.

“Just call me Mrs Zukowski,” she captioned the photos.

The 30-year-old added that she’d had the best day with her people and was very excited to tie the knot.

She’s been engaged twice but has yet to be married.

“No words. Feeling so incredibly blessed and can’t wait to marry my human,” she wrote.

That post might seem benign to you, and who knows if she’ll officially change her name, but it caused divide.

Hembrow has built a social media empire that has turned into an active wear empire, and her name is incredibly recognisable.

So, if she does take her future husband’s name, that doesn’t mean she’ll be using it in her business life.

She might just be using it in her personal life or she might not officially change it at all and just thought she was posting a cute caption.

Either way, when you’re as famous as Hembrow, people immediately have an opinion on everything you do.

Fans are divided on whether she should potentially take a man’s name.

“Tammy Zukowski just doesn’t hit,” one follower complained the comment got over 300 likes.

Hembrow replied, and said, “It does for me”.

“This is not it,” another complained and someone else said they’ll “miss” her going by Hembrow, but were ultimately happy for her.

Someone else said they loved seeing the influencer in her wifey-era, and someone else wrote that Tammy Zukowski has “nice ring to it.”

Considering it used to be almost a given a woman would take a man’s last name, the fact that there was any negative comments at all just shows how much times have changed.

Bizarrely, Hembrow has been trolled repeatedly since announcing her engagement to Zukowski.

When they first announced their good news, it triggered judgment instead of celebration.

“Never in my life have I felt so safe, so loved, so understood, so cared for. What a plot twist you were,” Hembrow wrote when announcing her engagement.

Of course, fans rejoiced in the news, but plenty of trolls slammed Hembrow for having a new partner.

Someone even called it an “insane” decision, and she was met with a lot of judgment, which seemed to stem from the fact she’s been engaged before and has kids.

Hembrow has three children; she shares her two eldest kids with her ex, Reece Hawkins and her youngest child, Posy, born in 2022 with her ex, Matt Poole.

The fitness icon was engaged to both the men she shares children with, and most recently, she called off her engagement with Poole in December 2022.
