VINTAGE styles, with a healthy splash of colour, could be the winning formula in the racewear fashion stakes this summer.
Hobart milliner and fashionista Cessiah Alice has been busy in the lead-up to the Tasmanian Racing Carnival, making custom pieces for the upcoming Hobart and Launceston cups.
“Bright colours, but in classic vintage styles seem to be popular this season. As always, floral is in, as well as big sleeves, ruffles and pleats,” she said.
“Blocked halo crowns seem to be my best seller for the season. I have a few in the making for the carnival.
“Pillbox styles are also popular. Again, bright, bold and fun colours, but in classic vintage styles.”
Tasmanian Racing Club ambassador Alycia Hall said the summer racing carnival was among her favourite times of the year. “The exciting part about the summer racing carnival is that it provides a platform for fashion, racing and socialising and brings people from all walks of life together,” she said.
“The highlight for many ladies and gents is the Fashions on the Field, with exuberant millinery and head-to-toe style and grooming.
“This is a time to embrace the best of summer, think florals, prints, textures and colours.”
