A new product that has been touted as a KFC dupe has hit Aussie shores.

The popular Tegel Take Outs range has been gaining popularity overseas, with its burger fillets and chicken portions being compared to the fast food giant’s famous offerings.

Now, they’re hit Woolworths shelves with two options shoppers can snap up for $15 – the Tegel Take Outs Louisiana Style Chicken Tenders and the Tegel Take Outs Nashville Style Chicken Tenders.

The Nashville version is spicier than the Louisiana version, with both dropping at the start of this month.

“Run, don’t walk to Woolies guys because the viral fakeaway KFC burgers now come in tenders,” food blogger @nectoriouspapi1 said on TikTok.

“And now we can make Twisters at home. There is the hot version, and there is also the standard version which are more in the Original [Twister] style.

“I am excited to try them, I am definitely making Twisters tonight. Enjoy!”

True to his word, the social media user posted his take on making a fakeaway Zinger Twister using the tenders he had purchased.

In addition to the Tegel’s product he used tomato, lettuce, wrap bread and homemade sauce that used mayonnaise, lemon and pepper.

“This taste exactly like KFC, I promise you, and it’s absolutely delicious,” he said.

Social media users were excited by the product coming to Aussie shores.

“Stop sharing them!!! Ahaha you sell them out,” one joked.

Another said: “I tried this and omg 10/10.”

Others needed more convincing about whether or not the product was worth it.

One said: “People that say these taste the same as KFC have faulty tastebuds.”

“They are so expensive. I would rather buy KFC which comes with all the sides,” another said.

A Woolworths spokesperson told news.com.au: “Our Tegel Take Outs Chicken Burgers have received a great response from our customers, and that’s why we’re especially excited about our new chicken tenders from Tegel – worth crossing the road for!

“The coated chicken tenders are available in ‘Louisiana’ and ‘Nashville’ flavours. You can find them at almost all Woolworths stores nationally.”

In September, there was a lot of hype around the burger fillet product from Tegel’s Take Outs range.

The owner of jewellery label Mermaid & Bear, Laura shared a two-part video with her 16,100 TikTok followers of her using the fried chicken patties to recreate KFC’s iconic Zinger burger.

The second video saw her putting the KFC menu dupe together – pairing the chicken with lettuce, cheese, a homemade spin on their pepper mayo, and a seeded bun.

“They legit smell like a KFC fillet burger. Yum,” she said, deeming the finished product “delicious”.

Fitness and health coach Bec Hardgrave came to the same conclusion, posting a video of her KFC burger recreation using the frozen item.

“This tastes just like KFC. But better,” she declared, scoring them “20/10”.

She added in the comments that she’s “convinced they taste the same! Need to make it again, buy the real one and compare!”
