Social media users have gone wild for a chicken product in the Woolworths’ frozen food aisle that tastes “exactly” like a burger from KFC – with some declaring it’s even better than the fast food giant’s.
The owner of jewellery label Mermaid & Bear, Laura, was the latest to try the $14 Tegel Take Outs Louisiana Style Burger – sharing a two-part video with her 16,100 TikTok followers of her using the fried chicken patties to recreate KFC’s iconic Zinger burger.
“Just got to Woolworths because I heard they have these Louisiana chicken burgers that taste exactly like KFC – but you’ve gotta cook them in an airfryer,” Laura said in the first clip, which has drummed up close to a million views.

The second video saw her putting the KFC menu dupe together – pairing the chicken with lettuce, cheese, a homemade spin on their pepper mayo, and a seeded bun.
“They legit smell like a KFC fillet burger. Yum,” she said, deeming the finished product “delicious”.
Hundreds of users echoed the sentiment, with one writing: “I had them tonight, so much like KFC!!!”
“They are fantastic … had three today in the air fryer … unbelievable,” another commented.
Others noted that the chicken was “not exactly” like KFC, adding that they actually “taste better”.
Fitness and health coach Bec Hardgrave came to the same conclusion, uploading a video last week of her KFC burger recreation using the frozen item.
“This tastes just like KFC. But better,” she declared, scoring them “20/10”.
She added in the comments that she’s “convinced they taste the same! Need to make it again, buy the real one and compare!”
Not all of Hardgrave’s viewers agreed – admitting that while the chicken patties “are amazing”, they’re “not the same as KFC”.
“They are tasty, but not def not the same as KFC,” agreed another.
