Wursthaus Kitchen
The gourmet rolls and baguettes at the Wursthaus Kitchen are a standout with some 20 different varieties to choose from including hot pulled pork and chicken schnitzel rolls, both $10. The crusty baguettes and white or wholemeal rolls with a selection of smoked meats, including Wursthaus hams, smoked turkey, pastrami, hot or mild salami and free-range chicken ($9.90), are also very popular.

Sandy Bay Bakery
The salad rolls on offer at the Sandy Bay Bakery are not only fresh and delicious but starting at $6.50 are also super affordable. Made fresh each morning, they are full of salad and the staff are more than willing to make you one up if you fancy a different one than those made-to-go in their fridge. With more than 20 fillings available for fresh or toasted rolls and sandwiches they cater to many tastes.

JJs Bakery
The various JJs Bakery outlets have fresh rolls and bread delivered daily from their Launceston bakehouse. Their gourmet salad rolls in baguette-style crusty rolls ($7) are popular, as are their paninis ($6.20) and salad wraps ($7). Choose from the ham, chicken, turkey or beef and salad stuffed rolls. The tomato relish on the beef roll is made from tomatoes locally sourced from Young’s Vegie Shed.

Cripps Bakehouse Bellerive
This busy bakery does great rolls, sandwiches and wraps all at very good prices. Salad rolls start at $6 with a range of fillings and sauces and a variety of meats including Mortadella, corned beef, pastrami, turkey, chicken and ham. And the old-fashioned favourite curried egg salad is also a popular option. They also make Turkish pides and focaccias, which can be toasted. Vegetarian options are also available.

Jean-Pascal Patisserie is also a very popular spot with lunchgoers and offers a gourmet selection of rolls made daily with the freshest ingredients including generous fillings, wrapped in fluffy French-style baguettes. Just some of the options include ham and brie, seeded-mustard chicken and smoked salmon, all served with salad. The smoked salmon with salad roll is $8.50, while the others are all $7.50.
