THIS year’s Taste of Tasmania is billed to be the biggest yet, with a record number of stallholders announced for the festival’s 30th birthday celebrations.
For a week over the height of summer, Hobart’s waterfront will again come alive with an injection of food and fun programming over the new year’s holiday.
More than 110 uniquely Tasmanian stallholders will dish up culinary delights, representing the breadth of the island state’s food offerings.
In a festival first, established big name producers – such as Matthew Evans from Fat Pig Farm and Nick Haddow from the Bruny Island Cheese Co – will exhibit alongside emerging foodies new to the Taste.
Another festival first will be the integrated Children’s and Families program, with kids’ zones encouraging circus skills, theatre production, and skate skills interspersed through the site.
“This year it’s fair to say will be much more extroverted, engaging, big and bold,” said Festival Director Brooke Webb.
“It absolutely bigger than ever. And I feel there’s something really special about what we’re doing.”
The Taste of Tasmania runs from Friday, December 28, 2018 to Thursday, January 3, 2019.
