Tasmania’s stellar reputation for high quality food and produce will be on show for the rest of the country to see, as hit reality cooking show MasterChef heads to Tasmania.
Picturesque locations across Tasmania will serve as the backdrop for multiple episodes of MasterChef Australia: Fans and Favourites, with shooting already underway.
The first episode has already been filmed on the Freycinet Peninsula, but producers have remained tight lipped on other locations, only revealing plans to visit the state’s north and south as well.
“Tasmania is home to some of the most dramatic and compelling landscapes in Australia,” judge Melissa Leong said.
“It’s also a hotbed for spectacular food and wine, so we’re thrilled we have this opportunity to explore this wild, dynamic state.”
Tourism Tasmania CEO John Fitzgerald said the episodes would showcase Tasmania’s food and wine offerings on the national stage.
There are 80 crew members who have travelled from Melbourne to Tasmania to film the episodes.
