Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Wednesday, February 26. The ASX 200 index has closed 0.1 per cent lower at 8,240.7 points as miners were sold off, but energy players found support.
Wall Street closed mixed, with the S&P 500 and tech-heavy Nasdaq indexes marking a fourth consecutive session of declines, down 0.5 per cent and 1 .4 per cent, respectively. The Dow Jones index rose 0.4 per cent.
Cryptocurrency giant bitcoin is just above $US89,000.
The Aussie dollar is trading around US63.29c.
