Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Friday, December 1. The ASX 200 closes 0.2 per cent lower at 7073.20 points, paring back some of its earlier declines. Wall Street was mixed despite signs of cooling inflation.

The Aussie dollar is trading around US66.05c.
