Police are investigating the assault of an 11-year-old boy in Harristown on Monday.

The boy was walking along Kurrajong Street about 8am when he was assaulted by another boy who was part of a group and then robbed.

Officers believe the offenders may also be responsible for the assault of a 37-year-old disabled man at a Toowoomba bus stop on March 29.

Footage of the assault of the disabled man has been circulated online.

In it, the man is seen clutching his bag while being antagonised by a teenage boy.

Another boy then runs in from behind and snatches his bag.

Toowoomba police officer Detective Acting Inspector Paul McCusker said the youths involved appeared to be filming themselves and posting their behaviour onto social media.

“Bullying behaviour and assault of any kind is not tolerated by the Queensland Police Service,” he said.

“These youths are asked to make themselves known to police or, if anyone knows the identity of those involved, they are urged to contact police.”

Anyone who may have had interaction with those involved, is asked to contact police, either through Policelink on 131 444 or through the online form.

Reports can also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers, a registered charity and community volunteer organisation, by calling 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersqld.com.au.
