Sex shop theft: Love Heart Toowoomba wants shoplifter to return item he stole

A sex shop has released footage of the moment a keen shopper took a five-fingered discount from the store. Now the manager is asking him to return the goods. SEE THE VIDEO

The manager of Love Heart Toowoomba has asked a young man who stole a personal pleasure device to kindly return the item.

If the thief complies then the manager – Ash – will withdraw a complaint she made with the Toowoomba police.

“He literally looked at the camera while standing next to a sign that said, ‘Smile you are on camera,’” she said.

The man entered the James Street store on Tuesday while staff were distracted he pocketed a sex toy.

All of which was captured on high definition CCTV.

Ash said shoplifting was a constant problem until the store started sharing CCTV of the offences on social media.

“Since we have been doing what we are doing it has deterred people,” she said.

“Is stealing really worth having your face plastered all over social media.”

The store has shared several videos in recent months which has led to the thieves returning the stolen property.

“The last video was on the television news and the person saw themselves on TV and came in the next day to pay for the item,” Ash said.

“If they come back and pay, we will withdraw our police report.”
