Rockville tomahawk attack: Teens police want to speak with over shock tomahawk attack named

Police have released the names and images of two teenagers they believe can assist with their investigation into a shocking early morning attack that left an man with serious injuries.

Police have released the names and images of two people they want to speak with, after an man was attacked with a tomahawk in his own home.

A 68-year-old man was struck in the chest by multiple assailants as he prepared breakfast for his wife in his Trousdell Court home on the morning of October 18.

He sustained serious injuries and was later rushed to hospital, but has since been released.

Investigators now want to speak with 19-year-old Denzel Hinch and 18-year-old Eliah Bligh, who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

Anyone who knows their whereabouts are also urged to contact police.

9 News has reported the man as retired army officer George McDougall.

The incident shocked the quiet cul-de-sac in Rockville, which some residents had never seen in more than two decades in the area.

Gypsy Suhr lives several doors down from where the attack took place on Wednesday morning, and had detectives deliver her the shocking news at her doorstep.

“I had a detective at the door, wanting to check our cameras for footage relating to a violent robbery a couple of doors up the street,” she said.

“I was really shocked, we were just getting up wearing our pyjamas having a coffee.”

Tanya Atkins also lives near the crime scene, and nearly encountered two people she believed may have been the perpetrators shortly after.

“I was reversing out of the driveway and nearly hit two people,” Ms Atkins said.

“My husband said, ‘they don’t look real good, get inside and lock the doors’.”

Ms Atkins said in more than two decades living on the street, she had never encountered a similarly violent attack.

“It’s terrifying,” she said.
