Gore Highway closed after vehicle crashes into power poll at Yarranlea

Motorists should avoid the Gore Highway near Yarranlea after a vehicle crashed into a power pole.

According to the Queensland Fire Department, the vehicle hit the power pole about 12.30pm on Saturday.

The impact snapped the pole and it is leaning over the highway.

The highway has been closed to traffic between Scrubby Road and Gap Road while emergency services work to make the scene safe.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said two motorists were assessed at the scene and had suffered only minor injuries.

Emergency services are working with Ergon Linesmen to remove the damaged power pole.

In an unrelated incident, a woman and two primary school aged children suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on the Gore Highway at Southbrook, about 2.40pm.
