Worker in critical condition after he was crushed by road roller

A man was crushed up to his chest while working on the Warrego Highway. Police have secured the scene and Forensic Crash Unit officers were called to prepare a report ahead of a Workplace Health and Safety investigation.

Paramedics have treated a man after he was crushed by a road roller.

A man has been flown to Brisbane in a critical condition after he was crushed up to his chest by a road roller at a Warrego Highway worksite.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were called to the scene at Bungil about 11am on Saturday.

They treated the man for serious leg and pelvic injuries before transporting him to the Roma Hospital.

He has since been transferred to a Brisbane hospital.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police have secured the scene.
