Police and QFES investigators will probe the cause of a house fire which started in a Toowoomba suburb early on New Year’s Day.

Investigators will probe the cause of a fire that started at a house in North Toowoomba on New Year’s Day.

Emergency services were called to the incident at a property on Link Street about 5.15am on Sunday.

The fire had started on the veranda of the property, with all occupants accounted for by the QFES.

Fire crews had contained the blaze at 5.49am, with police believed to have declared it a crime scene.

While no one was injured, two people were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.
