Fire crews spent nearly three hours at the scene of a serious house fire in Roma on Sunday night.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews arrived at the Courtney Street home just after 11pm and were assisted by police and ambulance crews.

A QFES spokesman confirmed that all persons inside the house were evacuated and accounted for, with no one needing medical treatment.

“We had five crews from the one station attend,” he said.

“One team in breathing apparatus entered through the front door to extinguish the fire which was located in the roof space.

“Ergon Energy was also there to isolate the power.”

He said the fire crews extinguished the fire at 11.20pm, but continued working on cooling the hot spots until midnight.

The final fire crew left the scene at 2am.

“SES were called in this morning to cover part of the exposed roof with a tarp,” the QFES spokesman said.

“Fire investigators have been called to attend the scene, which will happen at some point today.

“There won’t be any confirmed cause until investigations are finished.”
