A regional Queensland man who “preyed” upon of a 15-year-old-girl, plying her with meth and engaging in sexual acts, has been brought back before the courts for breaching his sentence.

The 36-year-old, William Brett Green, was placed on the community based order in 2021 after he pleaded guilty to supplying the girl with meth and engaging in sexual intercourse on a number of occasions.

During his sentence, before the Toowoomba Supreme Court Justice Martin Burns condemned Green’s actions.

“You were more than twice her age when you took advantage of her,” he said.

“You preyed on her and took advantage of her.

“This is conduct which is predatory, and for that you should be ashamed.”

On Wednesday, May 7, Justice Catherine Muir told Green he was summoned to appear at the Toowoomba Supreme Court because his lawyers could contact him regarding his breach.

Crown prosecutor Peter Blake-Segovia told the court Green had outstanding charges before the lower courts, which he was alleged to have committed in breach of his suspended sentence.

However, noted Green pleaded guilty to a number of other offences in June 2024 in the Ipswich jurisdiction.

“My instructions were to seek an adjournment to the next Supreme Court call over for the finalisation of those (Toowoomba) charges so all (breach) matters could be dealt with at once,” he said.

Justice Muir asked Green’s solicitor what the outstanding charges were, however they did not know as they did not represent him on those matters.

Justice Muir told Green it was important to stay in contact with his lawyers and enlarged his bail.

“I would hope that this matter would be dealt with in the next sittings,” she urged all parties.

The charges before the Magistrates Court will be mentioned on Tuesday, May 13.

The breach of a suspended sentence hearing was adjourned to August 4, 2025.

In June 2021, after spending 323 days in custody, Green was sentenced to a suspended three-year jail term after he pleaded guilty to the following charges before the Toowoomba Supreme Court:

The unlawful carnal knowledge of a child under 16, three counts of supplying meth to that child, possessing child exploitation material, possessing a weapon, and seven counts of drug supply.
