She had no idea what would flow from crossing a double white line to enter a Stenner Street service station.

Police stopped Tammy Peta-Amelia Challenor after watching her drive into the service station on March 13 after crossing the white double line on Stenner Street.

Telling police she didn’t realise what she had done was wrong, checks of her driver’s licence found it was demerit point suspended and then she tested positive for meth during a roadside drug test, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.

She had then become uncooperative with police and went to walk away, telling police they couldn’t tell her what to do, police prosecutor Rohan Brewster-Webb told the court.

Eventually, after she continued to ignore police directions, she had to be handcuffed when arrested.

The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to four charges including failing to keep left of two continuous dividing lines, driving without a licence demerit points suspended, drug driving and obstructing police.

The self-represented Challenor told the court she had been going through a rough patch at the time.

Magistrate Kay Ryan placed her on nine months probation and disqualified her from holding or obtaining a driver’s licence for 12 months.
