A 32-YEAR-OLD man who obtained notoriety after escaping from a police vehicle on the Toowoomba Range will remain in custody on 44 fresh charges.
Jason Lee Colless was jailed for 12 months for escaping lawful custody arising from the incident on March 26, 2019.
He was on parole when he was arrested on 44 fresh charges last month.
His solicitor Brad Skuse, of Skuse Graham Lawyers, told Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Tuesday that Colless was on a return to prison warrant and would therefore remain in custody.
Mr Skuse asked for a four-week adjourned, on the fresh charges, to take instructions.
The fresh charges include unlawfully using motor vehicles, separate counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evading police, 14 counts of disqualified driving, three counts of stealing a vehicle, eight counts of stealing, burglary, fraud and drug matters.
Acting Magistrate Roger Stark remanded Colless in custody and adjourned all matters to the same court on June 28.
