Isobel Rose Higgins charged with being accessory after fact of murder in Thor Morgan case

A 25-year-old woman accused of providing a false alibi for her boyfriend, who has since been charged with murder, has fronted court again. Read the latest.

A 24-year-old woman charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder arising from the Thor Morgan case has had her case mentioned before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court again.

Isobel Rose Higgins was not required to be in court for the brief mention but was represented by her solicitor Alysha Jacobsen of Bouchier Khan Lawyers.

Ms Jacobsen told the court she had received the police brief of evidence but further material from police was required and asked for an adjournment.

Police claim Ms Higgins had provided a false alibi for her boyfriend Lachlan Mark Freund who has since been charged with murder arising from Thor Morgan’s death.

Mr Freund is alleged to have fired several rounds from a lever-action rifle, one of which hit Mr Morgan in the head as he drove along Ruthven Street near Downlands College in the early hours of March 15.

Despite the wound Mr Morgan walked back to his girlfriend’s home where an ambulance was called.

He was taken to Toowoomba Hospital where doctors located a bullet lodged in his brain.

Mr Morgan survived for several months before he died in the Princess Alexandra Hospital on May 16.

Tina Kathleen Hazard, 36, has also been charged with murder arising from Mr Morgan’s death and she is currently held in custody.

Magistrate Clare Kelly adjourned Ms Higgins’ matters for mention back in the same court on December 15.
