Four-year-old dies after quad bike accident on property in southwest Queensland property

A four-year-old died in hospital from injuries sustained in a quad bike accident on a property. Another child was also injured in the rollover.

Police will prepare a report for the State Coroner following the sudden death of a four-year-old child on a property near Theodore on Saturday.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson told The Chronicle on Sunday that the death was non-suspicious.

“Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the sudden and non-suspicious death of a child in hospital following a quad bike rollover at a property in Isla in the state’s southwest around 4.30pm, Saturday, 17 June,” the spokesperson said through a press statement.

“Another child sustained minor injuries at the scene and was transported to hospital.”

The injured child was transported to Toowoomba Hospital on Saturday evening.

No further information was made available.
